Okay, those hand tools aren't going to use themselves so lets cut some wood...
After drawing the outline on the blank I drew some straight rip saw cut line to remove as much of the excess as possible.
Well it's kind of guitar body shaped, time to get the surforms and rasps out...

After quite a few hours of rasping, filing and coarse sanding, my arms are aching however it is definitely taking shape. Here it is next to the Yamaha it's based on. I've deliberately tried to make the horns slightly curvier and less pointy looking.
Another big difference between this build and the Yamaha is I'm putting on a top carve.
